Byron
Bankhead, MD was born and raised in Utah. He received his undergraduate
degree from BYU in exercise physiology, his M.D. from St. Louis
University Health Science Center in 2001 and completed his residency in
anesthesiology at the University of Utah in 2005. In 2006, he completed a
fellowship in acute pain management and completed board certification.
Dr. Bankhead has a long history of working with ketamine to help people.
He was primarily responsible for the start of ketamine infusion
services for acute pain at both the University of Utah and at IMC
hospital and has extensive experience in managing hospitalized patients
receiving ketamine. Byron is excited to expand his ketamine practice to
include those suffering from depression, PTSD, and other life
challenges. He is committed to working as a member of the team to find
and customize the treatments that give patients the best change of
meaningful change and recovery.
In his spare time Byron enjoys outdoor recreation,
spending time with people he loves, and music. He is a bass player in a
local band.
